Collection: The Long Vigil

This series emerged through a recurring interest in what happens when familiar certainties fall away.

The paintings develop through an intuitive process in which forms, colors and relationships emerge gradually through response rather than planning. Working in this way requires a degree of trust  - a willingness to move forward without knowing where the process will lead.

Across the series, landscapes, nocturnal forms and moments of illumination appear and dissolve. They suggest encounters with places that feel both external and deeply interior. Spaces where orientation is uncertain and where the next step cannot be fully seen in advance.

The works reflect an interest in our relationship with the unknown. Fear often appears to concern what surrounds us, yet it may arise just as much from what remains unseen within ourselves. Rather than turning away, these paintings explore the possibility of remaining present  - of meeting uncertainty with attention rather than avoidance.

Each work can be understood as a reflection on trust: trust in perception, trust in the unfolding path and trust in what may become visible when we choose not to look away.
